Taking Responsible Steps: Embracing Carbon Offsetting for US Shipments

With this in mind, we are happy to announce our collaboration with the FedEx® Carbon Offset Program for our FedEx® shipments within the United States. At Brand Addition, we believe in taking meaningful actions to reduce our ecological footprint and being transparent about our efforts. Collaborating with the FedEx® Carbon Offset Program aligns with this vision. Offsetting is imperfect, and it is not a replacement for upfront emissions reductions, but we do consider it to be our best available alternative while FedEx® is working on those upfront reductions.

 

Why FedEx's Carbon Offset Program?

Our choice to work with the FedEx® Carbon Offset Program is driven by a commitment to address the environmental impact of our operations. We already ship with DHL Go Green from our European logistics hubs, and expanding our carbon offsetting efforts to include our biggest US shipping provider is a natural next step. The FedEx® Carbon Offset Program is a practical approach to measuring and offsetting the carbon emissions associated with shipping services, allowing us to integrate sustainability into our operations while ensuring reliable service. 

How Does It Operate?

Here's how the FedEx® Carbon Offset Program works:

1. Emissions Calculation: FedEx® calculates the carbon emissions generated by the transportation of our shipments.

2. Offset Initiatives: FedEx® invests in a range of projects worldwide that aim to reduce or eliminate an equivalent amount of carbon dioxide emissions.

3. Third Party Verification: As a result of our participation in this program, our shipments through FedEx® have an equal amount of carbon ‘offset’ as was produced through the shipments themselves. FedEx® uses ClearBlue Markets, a third-party platform, to validate its carbon offset initiatives.
